Team List

Anne-Maree Cole graduated from the University of Qld with honours, in 1982 and in 2014 completed a Masters Degree in Sleep Medicine at the University of Sydney. She has had a long-term interest in Aesthetic Dentistry and in the year 2000 began taking comprehensive post-graduate programs at LVI in the United States, where she has taken more programs than any other dentist in the world and is now a featured instructor. This education has led to a deep and evolving interest in not only aesthetics, but TMD, sleep and orthodontics. She is a strong believer in getting to the root cause of problems because only by acknowledging and addressing these can we hope break the cycle of destruction.

Dr Pedja Bijelic is a man of the world, growing up in former Yugoslavia and moving to New Zealand as a teenager in 1996. He completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2001 from Otago University and practiced general dentistry, Oral Surgery and paediatric dentistry including assisting in maxilofacial trauma and reconstructive surgery at Wellington Hospital for 3 years. Pedja also worked in the private sector in Wellington for 5 years before moving to Gladstone in 2010 with his wife and children. Pedja loved what regional Australia had to offer. During his practice in Gladstone he developed  a special interest in orthodontics, full mouth rehabilitation, and treatment of TMD and sleep disorders. When Dr Pedja was offered an opportunity to work alongside Dr Anne-Maree Cole and her team at James Street Dentists, he jumped at the chance, and moved his family to Brisbane to be actively involved in improving the health of our dental community.

Dianne
Administration

To Anne-Maree I will always be Dianne, a 16 year old fresh faced dental assistant who joined her and her husband’s new practice when they were reasonably new graduates. I left to have a family and have been fortunate to return as a somewhat mature woman - now preferably known as ‘Di’. I am back into a space and time where sincerity and hard work meet to create genuine results with genuine care. I appreciate and value these things.

Even though I started out as a dental assistant, it soon became apparent that I was more suited to a front desk, concierge role. You will find me at JSD greeting you at the door, responding to your phone calls, email queries or having a wonderful chat over making you a freshly brewed coffee. This is what I love the most about my job. I enjoy making people feel warm and welcomed. I also enjoy working within a team that is passionate, accepting, innovative and passionate - that is JSD.

My spare time is filled with food, family, gardening, reading and creek walks with our two treasured jack russell terriers.

Dr Sylvia Lee

Dr Sylvia Lee graduated from the University of Otago with Credit in 2012 and worked in private practice in New Zealand where she quickly realised her enjoyment and passion in children’s dentistry. She is aligned with the JSD philosophy that prevention is always better than cure and understanding the root cause of the problem is vital to successful outcomes. She has a special interest in early interceptive and jaw development treatments which she has trained within her scope of care by dedicating extensive time to numerous continuing education both locally and internationally. The experience of having her own child, Theo, inspired her to study further at her alma mater and she gained her post graduate diploma in paediatric dentistry with Distinction. She is excited to work alongside all the star team at JSD to help our patients on their dental journey.
