Education and Qualification:
Dr Sylvia Lee graduated from the University of Otago with Credit in 2012 and worked in private practice in New Zealand where she quickly realised her enjoyment and passion in children’s dentistry. Children are not smaller adults, and require child specific care with a holistic approach to accommodate for their individual needs. With her special ability to build rapport with kids she is experienced in providing a calm and relaxing dental environment for her patients, that includes dental anxiety management techniques, so that they may achieve their dental health goals. She is aligned with the JSD philosophy that prevention is always better than cure and understanding the root cause of the problem is vital to successful outcomes. She has a special interest in early interceptive and jaw development treatments which she has trained within her scope of care by dedicating extensive time to numerous continuing education both locally and internationally. The experience of having her own child, Theo, inspired her to study further at her alma mater and she gained her post graduate diploma in paediatric dentistry with Distinction.
